Well I think it has been about a week since my last post. I will try to make this post short and sweet.

Last weekend we went home and my parents had a big crawfish boil and invited our family and my friends. The weather was perfect and the crawfish was sooo good. It was a great weekend.

This week I have been a little board in Houston. My friend up here that I usually hang out with was back home visiting her family. I did go to the mall and got me a dress to wear to my baby shower and for Easter. I LOVE it. It is a maternity dress, but it looks like I may be able to wear it after the baby as well. It is very springy!

On Wednesday I has to go and do the 3 hour glucose screening. The is a test to see if you have gestational diabetes. I really hope I pass. I know a lot of women get it when they are pregnant, but that would just be one more thing to worry about. I am hoping I get a call today with my results. I have also been experiencing a lot of lower back pain for the past two days. I have been taking hot baths and using a heating pad to give me some relief, but it is not working. I have read that when your stomach muscles are stretching it put the weight and pressure of the baby on your back. Maybe that is it and Joe is just going through a growth spert right now.

we got our baby furniture and Travis finished putting it all together the other night. I love it. I just can't wait to decorate his room now. I will have to wait until my shower. I am getting very excited about that as well. It is going to be one huge party because I am only having one. Some people do one shower for each side of the family. Since we live in Houston now, it is easier for us to just have one. It is going to be at my Aunts house in Willowdale since her house can accommodate all the people. I am looking forward to seeing all my family and friends.

Well I said I would make it short and sweet, but I guess I got carried away. Travis and I are looking forward to having a relaxing weekend in Houston. We will probably order a glider for the babies room, but other than that we have no plans. Have a great weekend everyone!

Baby Update

I just got back from my doctors appointment and I wanted to make sure I gave you all an update. The stuff you have to drink for the glucose test was not bad at all. Then I went to the doctor and she said everything looked great. The baby's heart beat sounded very strong. I have one more 4 week appointment and then I start going everything 2 weeks. Then I went down to the lab to get my blood work done. I guess they will call me to let me know how the glucose test went. I hope I passed.

I'm 26 weeks today. Third trimester here I come!!!!

I go for my monthly check up today. I love going to the doctor because I love to hear Joseph's heart beat. It nice just to hear the doctor say that everything looks good. I also have to take the glucose test today. Let's hope that goes okay. I will update again this afternoon to update you guys on baby and mom.

Weekend Review

Sorry for not updating this weekend, but we have the in-laws visiting. It was so nice to have visitors here.

Friday Travis and I showed them around the place. My wonderful mother-in-law brought us a few pounds of shrimp because it is so expensive here for shrimp. We decided to cook a shrimp stew. We also invited our friends to come over for dinner. The food was delicious and we have a great time.

We started off Saturday by going out to breakfast. We was so good, cheap, and great protions. Then my mother-in-law and I went to the galleria mall and Travis and his dad went to pick up the baby furniture. At the mall I got two pairs of shoes form payless. (Buy one get one 1/2 off) Then I went in Motherhood Maternity store to look for a dress to wear at my baby shower. I found a pattern and style that I just LOVED, but of course it didn't fit me right. On our way home we stopped by this monogram shop to look around. It was a cute store. Saturday night we went to eat at a very nice restaurant for my birthday. It was soooo good.

Sunday we all got up and went to church. Then we ate a light lunch and my in-laws left to go back home. Travis and I spent the rest of the day being very lazy and watching tv. It was the perfect kind of Sunday.

Today is my official birthday and I have no idea what I am going to do. I think I may run to the mall to return some shirts that I got for Travis that didn't fit him. Since we already went to eat out for my birthday this weekend, I don't think we are going to go anywhere. I am looking forward to going home this weekend, because I my parents are going to boil some crawfish for me for my birthday. I love crawfish. I have always loved having my birthday around crawfish season.

I hope I caught everyone up with my weekend review. Have a great week!

I am excited about dinner tonight. I know it sound lame, but what is there to do when you are a housewife. I am cooking an alfredo pasta dish tonight. The pasta will include lots of yummy veges like broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and black olives. I made this once before and it was so good. I hope it comes out like last time. If you are interested please tell me your favorite recipe and we can share. I love cooking and trying new things in the kitchen.

Happy 25 weeks to me and baby Joseph. Wow, I just realized that I only have 15 weeks left. To you it may seem like a long time, but for me it doesn't seem that far away. I am def. not ready yet. I don't have anything I need. I am sure after my baby shower I will be more prepared. I hope our baby looks a little like me, but I have a feeling he will be a spitting image of Travis. It doesn't matter, I will love him no matter WHAT!

On another note today is ash Wednesday. If you are not christian you may not want to read this.

This is def. one of my favorite times of year on the catholic calendar. This time of year reminds me to appreciate my faith and what he did for us. I know that our faith and commitment to our church as made TRavis and Is relationship strong from the very beginning. Ever since I met TRavis we have always gone to church faithfully ever week. To me it is more than going to church. It is living your life according the teachings of the church. I can't wait to teach Joseph about God and his love for him. This year for lent I am not giving anything up, instead I am going to do something. I am going to say the rosary every day. This is something I want to do for lent, but I would also like to keep doing it after lent is over. There really is no reason why I can't. It only takes about 20 minutes. I really can't stand when people say they don't have time to pray or go to church. Just get your butt out of bed earlier and then you have time. Anyway sorry for the church talk, but I felt it was appropreiate for today. Have a great lenten season and remember what he did for you and Me!

Back in Houston

Travis and I made it back to Houston yesterday around 6:00. We had a great visit with family and friends.

We left Thursday after Travis got off of work. We decided to stop in Laf. to spend the night at his parents house. We spent the morning there and then left for Baton Rouge to check on our house.

Friday Travis did some yard work and stuff. I went to run some errands and decided to get a pedicure. That was a nice treat because my back was hurting from the car ride and the girl took her time. Friday night we went eat at Sammy's since we had no food what so ever in our house. We had some boiled crawfish and bread pudding. I know baby Joe enjoyed the yummy food because I know I did.

We got up early on Saturday morning to go to my moms and drop our dog Dakota off. Then we all headed to my grandmaw's house for the Luling Parade. My whole family plus friends of the family all come on this day. It was so nice to see everyone. Travis' family even came over which was nice that he got to spend time with his family as well. There was so much good food to eat too!! I had hot tamales, dips, jambalaya, and of course King cake. It was a great day.

Sunday we went to church and had lunch with my mom and dad before we got on the road. The drive back was not bad at all. I thought it went by pretty fast. We got home and unloaded all the stuff we brought plus more. I went to get somthing out of my car.(Which we parked here all weekend.) I went to unlock it and it would not unlock with my key thing. Travis tried with his and it did not work either. We have actually use the key to unlock it. Well I left a light on in my card and the battery was dead. Then Travis had to jump my car and all. This was not what I wanted to come home too.

Well I know my journals have been pretty long, but it has been a few days since I have updated. I hope everyone in Louisiana has a happy Mardi Gras. Then it is time for Lent. So remember it is will soon be a time for sacrifice and to remember what he (Jesus) did for us! Love Y'all

Coming Home to Louisiana

I am really excited about coming home this weekend. Even though we are now in Houston, Tx. To me home is still in Louisiana. There is nothing like crawfish, country, and southern hospitality. You appreciate what you have when your gone.

We are coming home to get our fix of Mardi Gras and king cake. The only parade we will be able to make is the Luling parade. That's fine with me because my whole family plus Travis' family will all be at my grandmaw's house to catch the parade. It will be nice to see everyone all at once.

The only thing I an not looking forward to is the car ride. It is about 4 hours to our house in Walker. I guess now that my belly is growing it makes the ride home a little harder each time. It's all worth it though because I miss my family. I will just have to prop my feet up on the dash board.

Wow, I am doing good. Two journals in two days. I won't be able to comment or write again until I get back on Sunday. I hope everything has a great weekend and Happy Mardi Gras.

It's Been a Long Time

I really don't know where to start. I think it has been over a year since I have use this thing. After graduating and working I did not have much time to get on the computer much. I will try to briefly update everyone on what's been going on over the past year and a half.

I am now a nanny to three beautiful kids: Hannah-2 2/1, Layla 22 months, and Adam 18 months. They are so cute and I love being around them.

Travis and I have celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. We have been together for 10 years now. We also found out in Sept. of 08 that we were going to be parents for the first time. My due date is June 9th. We recently found out in Jan. that we are going to have a son. I can't wait to meet him.

Travis and I just moved to Houston, TX. The move is just for 18 months. After that we may move back to La or overseas for a year or two. It depends on what his job has in store for him.

Due to our move and I now a stay-at-home wife. I will also be staying home when the baby comes as well. The main reason I am back on LJ is because I have lots of time on my hands now. I figured I may need support and advice once the baby is here. I know a lot of stay at home moms use this as a way to communicate with other stay home moms. I hope I can keep everyone entertained with my entries. I am still new to this and I am learning as I go. I hope one day to have a cute journal layout like everyone else.
